Why cashless matters in 2026

How much does a vending machine card reader cost?
From $550 installed for a new cashless reader, including the MDB harness, mounting and testing. Transaction fees are charged by the payment provider and are separate from the hardware price.
Will a card reader work on an older machine?
Yes, as long as the machine has an MDB controller, which covers almost all machines built in the last two decades. We check the board generation before quoting.
Does it need wifi?
It needs a data connection. Most installs use a 4G SIM in the reader so there is no dependency on site wifi or IT approval.
