What you get for $1,650 to $4,950
The range reflects age and specification. At the lower end you are buying an older but sound snack vending machine that will trade reliably. At the upper end you are buying a late-model machine with a current controller, energy saving mode and a cabinet that still looks new in a corporate tea room.
Used snack machines are the cheapest way into vending. With no refrigeration circuit there is less to go wrong, so a well-maintained second-hand snack machine can run for another decade.
- Stripped, cleaned and sanitised inside and out
- Every selection vend-tested before dispatch
- Controller reflashed and price file loaded to your product list
- Locks re-keyed and two sets of keys supplied
- Payment system fitted and tested to your choice of acceptance
What is added on top of the machine price
Used machine pricing is deliberately quoted as machine-only so you are not paying for acceptance or freight you do not need.
| Payment system | Price |
|---|---|
| Cashless credit card reader (new, installed) | From $550 installed |
| Coin acceptor / coin mechanism (used) | From $295 GST inclusive |
| Note reader, accepts $5, $10 and $20 notes | From $350 + GST |
Payment systems are quoted separately so you only pay for the acceptance you need.
What to check before buying a used snack vending machine
Most disappointing second-hand purchases come from private sales with no testing. These are the things that actually determine whether a machine earns money.
- Controller and board generation — can it still talk to a modern card reader?
- Refrigeration deck hours, gas charge and door seal condition
- Delivery sensing — without it, every failed drop is a refund and a complaint
- Spiral and motor condition on every selection, not just a sample
- Cabinet, glass and lock condition if the machine faces the public
- Availability of spare parts for that model in Australia
Used, new or the free program
There is no single right answer. It comes down to capital, control and how much of the work you want to do yourself.

Delivery and transport
Used snack vending machines are delivered Australia wide. Transport is quoted on the machine size and destination, and tail-lift access plus a level path from the truck to the final position keeps the cost down.
We can also place the machine, fit the payment system on site and walk your team through loading, pricing and cash-out.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a used snack vending machine in Australia?
Used snack vending machines sell from $1,650 to $4,950 + GST, plus a payment system from $295 and transport to site. Age, controller generation and selection count set the price within that range.
Do used machines come with a warranty?
Every machine is workshop tested and vend-tested before dispatch, and warranty is available on request. Ask when quoting so it is written into the invoice.
Can a used machine take card and phone payments?
Yes, provided the controller supports MDB, which almost all machines from the last two decades do. A new cashless reader is from $550 installed and accepts tap, phone and watch payments.
Is a used vending machine a good first machine?
For most new operators, yes. It lowers the cost of proving a site, and if the location does not perform you have far less capital tied up in it.
Can I choose the products in the snack machine?
Yes. Every site gets a planogram consultation, so you can weight the machine toward healthier options, remove nut products for allergy reasons, or keep the staff favourites that already sell.
Do snack machines need refrigeration?
A standard snack machine is ambient and needs only a power point. If you want fresh sandwiches, yoghurt or dairy snacks you need a chilled snack or food machine instead.
